New photo policy!

Exciting news: as of today, visitors are allowed to take photographs at the museum! This change from our former no-photography policy was based on visitor feedback and much discussion internally about how we can offer a more modern photography policy while still protecting the objects on display.

To ensure the most sensitive objects are protected, there will still be a few photography restrictions (e.g. no photos allowed in our special exhibit Weaving Heritage), but those areas of the museum will be clearly marked. We also ask that visitors observe a few other rules, which are outlined here.

So please, next time you visit the museum, document your visit! In fact, feel free to share your favorite photos with us on Flickr, Facebook, or any other photo-sharing site.
Happy picture taking!
